RUNS
CHILDCARE
LARK started as a way for founder Kimberly (K) Novosel to build community around this sport as well as support single and solo parents like herself who face additional barriers to getting out there regularly. We offer free childcare for single parents during the run with a limited number of spots available each week.
Support LARK to help us continue to offer this important benefit.
Childcare
Lark offers free childcare during the run for single and solo parents, with a limited number of spots each week.
Spots & ages
4 spots available each week, ages 5 to 10.
Join the childcare program
Complete this form to register your child for Lark childcare and sign our childcare waiver. This only needs to be done once. [Link]
Form includes: parent/runner contact info, emergency contact (someone other than the runner), child's name, age/birthday, food sensitivities or allergies, medical info, anything else we should know, and agreement to childcare rules and processes.
Reserve your spot for the week
Once you're registered, reserve a spot for any given week using this form, at least 24 hours ahead of that Thursday's run. Spots are limited, and we'll confirm whether you have a spot or are on the waitlist. [Link]
Check-in
Check-in is at the Hinterland back patio with our childcare coordinator, [Kendyl Smith / placeholder]. Kids must be checked in by 5:50pm, or we may offer the spot to someone else. Please have your child use the restroom before check-in, since it helps keep everyone together once activities start.
During the run
Kids will be seated at a table with games, art, and small toys, with [Kendyl / coordinator] leading activities throughout.
Pick-up
Childcare time is for during your run only. As soon as you're back from your run, please check out your child with [Kendyl / coordinator], even if you're planning to stay afterward for food, drinks, or social time. Once your child is checked out, you're once again the responsible party for them, even if they remain near the childcare table or playing with the other kids. Pick-up cutoff for returning from your run is 7:30pm.
Snacks
We don't provide snacks, but you're welcome to send one with your child if they might need it.
If something comes up
Lark childcare is a small, relaxed setting, and we want it to be safe and enjoyable for every child there. If a child is having a hard time following basic safety guidance, being physically unsafe with another child, or unable to stay with the group, we may need to end childcare for that child that day, and will let you know as soon as it happens so you can step in. Repeated concerns may mean we're not able to continue offering childcare for that child going forward.
